Promoting Excellence in Health Care Education and Research

I am doing a project and need, ideally, the beginning history of simulation use in nursing. I've got all of it in the military, aerospace, and medicine but an having difficulty finding out just exactly when it was incorporated into nursing. I know about resusci-Annie, but I am looking more for simulator or task trainer use as a regular part of nurses training. Even if the 'task trainers' were dolls. Anyone have any sources or ideas? Thanks ahead of time, I'm sure someone knows something...

Pam Jefferies work is probably some of the first published information, that I'm aware of. Do Laerdal or Meti have the info??
Try Kathleen R. Rosen's chapter "The History of Medical Simulation" in the book Practical Healthcare Simulations editited by Loyd, Lake and Greenberg; Elsevier, 2004 ISBN 1-56053-625-X
