What ideas do you have for research across academic and service settings? What are the big questions or ideas? Let's start here and then find some feasible slices.
Testing competence of students in simulation at beginning and end of last year of program (sort of a precursor for the Carnegie report suggested testing).
creating the reliability and validity for a tool to use in assessing competence in simulation.
creating a IPE simulation situation and assessing outcomes
I think the fact that learners experience simulation in academia and service line is an awesome connecting factor...Can we utilize an existing tool to start the communication process between academia and service line for the learner to take with them? What if the learner had documentation of some sort for their simulation and practical experience to show at the service line? What is the service employee had documentation to show a new employer?
This tool leads to my research question, which is about the retention factors of the skills learned from one sim lab to the next. Do we always need to have every learner repeat a skill or task if they could more quickly see competency via a tool or fast tack of learner demonstrating what we see on the tool?
